This Privacy Policy describes how Lowcountry Oncology Associates (“Practice,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards personal information through our public website at www.lowcountryoncology.com and related online services (“Website”). 

This Policy applies only to information collected through the Website. It does not replace or modify our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices (“NPP”), which governs how we use and disclose protected health information in connection with the medical care we provide. A copy of our NPP is available at our offices and on our Website.

Lowcountry Oncology Associates is affiliated with OneOncology, LLC (“OneOncology”), a management services organization that provides administrative and operational support services to affiliated physician practices. This Privacy Policy applies solely to personal information collected through this Website. 

Lowcountry Oncology Associates and OneOncology share certain non-clinical website data through Google Analytics, which is used to track website traffic and usage patterns, and through appointment request form submissions, which are used to facilitate patient scheduling and operational support. The categories of information that may be shared include website usage data such as pages visited, referring URLs, device and browser type, IP address, and general geolocation data derived from IP address, as well as contact information submitted through the appointment request form such as name, phone number, and email address. This data is used solely for website performance, analytics, and scheduling operations and is not used for targeted advertising. 

OneOncology maintains its own separate Privacy Policy applicable to its corporate website and enterprise-level operations. Nothing in this Policy modifies or replaces the OneOncology Privacy Policy or the Practice’s HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices. Lowcountry Oncology Associates is the HIPAA covered entity responsible for patient care and protected health information. 

  1. Scope and HIPAA Clarification

This Policy applies only to personal information collected through our Website. It does not govern information collected in connection with the delivery of medical care, which is regulated by HIPAA and our NPP. 

Information submitted through the Website — such as appointment requests or contact inquiries — may become protected health information once it is associated with an individual receiving medical services. At that point, it is governed by HIPAA and our NPP rather than this Policy. 

We do not intentionally collect protected health information through the Website except through secure, designated channels. Users are encouraged not to submit sensitive health information through general contact forms or unencrypted email, as we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted through those channels.

  • Google Tag Manager — used to manage and deploy tracking and analytics codes on the Website. Google Tag Manager itself does not collect personal information but facilitates the operation of other measurement tools listed here. 
  • Cloudflare — used to provide website security, performance optimization, and reliability services. Cloudflare may process IP addresses and traffic data as part of its network security functions. 
  • Gstatic (Google) — used to serve static website content such as scripts, fonts, and images hosted on Google’s infrastructure. This service supports Website functionality and performance. 
  • Microsoft Forms (Appointment Request) — used to collect appointment request submissions from prospective and current patients. Information collected through this form includes name and phone number, and an optional description of the reason for reaching out. Information submitted through this form is used solely to respond to appointment inquiries and facilitate scheduling. This information is not used for targeted advertising or shared with third parties except as necessary to operate the form and respond to your request. 

Some tracking technologies deployed on this Website may constitute “targeted advertising” or “sharing” under applicable state privacy laws. Where required by law, we honor universal opt-out preference signals, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC). 

Users may manage cookie preferences through browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect Website functionality.
